PROFILE – STELLA DONGO
ROTARY DISTRICT 9210 GOVERNOR - 2013/14 ( Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi & Mozambique)
Joined the RC of Highlands on 6 June 1996, Stella has served the RC of Highlands for several years in various capacities such as Club Secretary, Director of Youth, Foundation, Club Services, Community Service. She was Club President for the Rotary year 2005/6 and appointed Assistant Governor the following year and served for 2 years in that capacity. She also served as the District Administrator 2008/9 and the Country Coordinator for Zimbabwe 2009/10.
Stella led a highly successful Group Study Exchange team to New York District 7120 in year 2007 which created key relationships with both Rotary District 7120 (New York) and Rotary District 5450 Colorado USA culminating into the huge 3H Grant Project in the High Density areas of Harare. The Rotary Foundation has funded more than US $300 000 training 5 000 women and youth to create Economic Groups which empowered and have benefited more than 250 000 urban poor communities. She is the Grant Coordinator a member of the Grant Committee for the Community Empowerment in Zimbabwe Project.
Stella is a Master PRLS 5 Graduate.
Stella has been recognised and awarded various District awards including Most Able President for year 2005/6 and Assistant Governor of the year 2006/7 and a Paul Harris Fellow.
She is a Graduate of the University of South Africa majoring in Economics and has had an illustrious career in Retail of more than 35 years. She has held Executive Management Positions in a number of listed companies in Zimbabwe in the Clothing and Furniture industry. She is currently CEO of TN Furniture Retail. She also serves on the Board of World Vision Zimbabwe.
Stella is well travelled and has visited a number of countries in Europe, America, and Asia and in the Region. She has attended Rotary International Conventions in Birmingham (2009), New Orleans (2011) and Bangkok Convention in 2012
Stella is married to Emmanuel, who is CEO of Mono Pumps Zimbabwe, a pump manufacturing company. They are blessed with 8 children, 3 sons and 5 daughters. They are also proud grandparents of 8 grandchildren. There are active Christians in the Anglican Church at St Pauls Marlborough ( CPCA).
Stella is a fitness enthusiast, enjoy sports, music, travel and community related activities.
